Tazor Desktop App Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
This policy covers the Tazorapp for Windows and macOS ("the app"), whether you install it from our website or from the Microsoft Store. It is operated by solidauto("we", "us"), which is responsible for your personal data as described here.
The app shows our website in its own window, so it handles the same data as the website, plus what a desktop app needs: notifications, the microphone and screen sharing for calls, update checks, and data stored on your computer. This page is complete on its own; our general Privacy Policy says the same about everything else.
When your organization uses Tazor, the workspace owner decides what goes into the workspace and who can see it. For that content we process data on the workspace owner's behalf.
1. Data we collect
Account data. Your email address, name, username, and optionally phone number, job title, time zone and profile picture. A password (stored only as a one-way hash) or a Google / single sign-on identity.
Workspace content. Everything you and your teammates put into a workspace: projects, tasks, comments, documents, files, messages, time entries, check-ins, calls and call recordings, and their summaries.
Billing data. Your plan, seats and subscription status. Payment card or UPI details are entered with Razorpay and never reach our servers.
Messages to us. What you send through the contact form or the in-app support dialog, and our replies.
Usage and device data. As on the website: pages you view and features you use, IP address, device and operating system type, and error reports. The app tells our servers it is the desktop app and which version it is.
The app itself adds no advertising or tracking. Analytics and error reporting, if enabled, are the same as on our website (see Service providers).
2. Permissions the app uses
Only our own pages in the app can use these, and only when you use the feature:
- Microphone: for calls with your team, only while you are in a call. Audio travels encrypted between the people in the call, directly or through our relay server, and is recorded only if someone in the call presses Record; everyone in the call then sees a recording badge.
- Screen sharing: only when you click Share screen in a call and choose a screen or window. Only what you pick is shown, and only to the people in that call. On macOS, the system asks you to allow Screen Recording the first time.
- Notifications: Windows or macOS notifications for your new messages, assignments, mentions and other updates, while the app is running. Turn them off in your system's notification settings.
3. Data stored on your computer
Like a web browser, the app keeps its sign-in cookies, site data and a cache of pages, plus the size and position of its window, in its own folder on your computer (on Windows in %APPDATA%\Tazor, on macOS in ~/Library/Application Support/Tazor).
- Signing out ends your session on that computer.
- Uninstalling the Microsoft Store version removes this folder. After uninstalling the downloaded version, delete the folder yourself to remove everything.
4. Signing in with Google
Google sign-in opens in your web browser, because Google doesn't allow it inside apps. After you sign in there, the browser hands the app a one-time code that works only for that app window, only once, and only for five minutes. You will also be signed in to Tazor in that browser.
5. Updates and links
- Microsoft Store version: the Microsoft Store installs updates, under Microsoft's privacy policy.
- Downloaded version: when it starts, the app checks GitHub, where we publish updates, for a newer version. GitHub sees your IP address and the app's version, as with any download.
- Links to other websites open in your normal web browser, under that browser's and those websites' own privacy practices.
6. How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, store and show your workspace, send notifications you have turned on, and run the integrations you connect. (Necessary to perform our contract with you.)
- To bill paid plans and send receipts and trial reminders. (Contract; legal obligations for financial records.)
- To keep the service secure: rate limiting, audit logs, detecting abuse. (Our legitimate interest in a safe service.)
- To fix errors and understand which features are used, so we can improve them. (Legitimate interest.)
- To answer you when you contact us.
7. What we don't do
- We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
- We do not use your workspace content to train AI models.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Service providers
We use these providers to run Tazor. Each receives only the data it needs and may use it only to provide its service to us.
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| MongoDB Atlas | Database hosting | All account and workspace data |
| Our hosting provider | Runs the application servers | All data in transit; server logs |
| Cloudinary | File storage and delivery | Files you upload, avatars, call recordings |
| Our email provider | Sending email | Name, email address, email content |
| RazorpayPaid plans | Payments and subscriptions | Billing name, email, payment details (entered with Razorpay, not stored by us) |
| SentryIf enabled | Error monitoring | Error details, browser and device information, user id |
| PostHogIf enabled | Product analytics | Pages viewed, features used, user id, email, workspace id |
| GoogleOnly if you use them | Google sign-in; Google Calendar sync | Name, email, profile picture; calendar events you sync |

| AI serviceOnly when you use AI features | AI features (task parsing, summaries, call summaries) | The text or recordings you ask it to process |
| GitHubDownloaded version only | Hosts app updates | IP address and app version when checking for updates |
We may also disclose data when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
9. Where data is stored
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than yours. Where data leaves your country, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as contractual clauses with the provider.
10. How long we keep data
- Account and workspace data: while your account is open.
- When you delete your account, we delete your profile and, if you own a workspace, the workspace and everything in it, straight away. Content you added to other people's workspaces stays there, shown as from "Deleted user".
- Database backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted data is fully gone from backups after that.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Security audit logs: up to one year.
- Support messages: up to two years after the conversation ends.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent. You can do most of this yourself:
- Correct your details in Settings → Profile.
- Export a copy of your data (JSON) in Settings → Security → Your data. Workspace owners can export the whole workspace there too.
- Delete your account in Settings → Security → Delete account (in the phone app: Settings → Delete account).
- Emails: turn notification and digest emails off in Settings → Notifications, or with the unsubscribe link in any of them.
For anything else, email solidauto202@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, sign-in codes expire and are single use, and access inside a workspace follows the roles its owner sets. Backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you as the law requires.
14. Children
Tazor is a work tool and isn't meant for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data; if you think we have, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We will post any change here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell account owners by email or in the app before it takes effect.
